May Summary: We are Champions!

Classroom Champions Day

We had an absolute blast participating on Classroom Champions day. We started off the morning by creating various questions and participating in a mystery chat with +Kristin Kurtz class. Boy that was difficult guessing their location! We used both printed maps and Google Maps to narrow down their location. My students had so much fun working together and guessing where Kristin's class was from.

After our chat, we completed our end of year surveys and played several of the Kahoot games. It was awesome to see how much they remembered about the Classroom Champions program! We also spent some time browsing the Classroom Champions website to learn more information about other Champions participating in the program. We were so excited to show off our Classroom Champions gear all day long, as other students asked us questions about the shirts and bracelets. Most importantly, we got to take our shirts HOME that day!

Clark's May Challenge

+Clark Rachfal gave a very motivating speech in our May "We are Champions" video. Several of us had tears welled up in our eyes as the video ended. We were not ready to be "done" with Classroom Champions! Luckily, we still had our video chat with Clark at the end of the month. Clark challenged us to thing of something positive we have improved on this year, and something we need to get better at for next year. I was again impressed with how much my students took it upon themselves to really reflect on the year and how to make themselves better for next year. Several said through Classroom Champions, they gained more confidence, made more friends, the ability to persevere, and even change their attitude to a more positive one. Many wanted to get better at specific school subjects, and wanted to continue working on the skill sets we worked on this year with Classroom Champions.

Our Last Chat with +Clark Rachfal

Even though our technology was being finicky the day of our chat, we still got to speak with +Clark Rachfal (thank goodness!). I think this helped my students relax a little more with their questions! They each created two questions to ask Clark, some "would you rather" questions, and many about him. We had a good time chatting back and forth learning more about Clark and his new job. This was such a great way to round out our year with Classroom Champions and Clark.

Thank you for making this a year where we #DreamBig and challenge ourselves to be the best "us" possible! Classroom Champions was by far one of our most favorite parts of this school year. We couldn't have had such a great year without the help of +Clark Rachfal and the Classroom Champions team!
